Who is a boat representative?
If someone other than the owner will handle certificate processing, payment, or needs to be included in the process, please provide their information below (e.g., another owner, crew member, or captain).
What is a boat ID?
US Sailing has assigned a unique boat ID (SKU) to every boat that was issued an ORC or ORR certificate since 2022. You should have received an email from US Sailing assigning you a boat ID for your boat.
Boat ID Support: If your Boat ID isn't working, try these steps:
Owner of the boat: To obtain a certificate, the boat owner must hold a valid US Sailing membership, or—for foreign vessels—be a member in good standing of their national sailing authority. If you are not a US Sailing member or need to renew, please click here to apply. If you have any questions, contact the Offshore Office at Offshore@USSailing.org.
ORR: Partially Measured vs. Fully Measured
Partially Measured — Owners may declare a subset of measurements; the rating office assigns the remaining parameters. If input data is incomplete, the office may use sister-ship data, which can result in a faster (more favorable) rating.
Fully Measured — Based on a complete measurement performed by a US Sailing Official Yacht Measurer; this provides the most accurate rating available under the rule.
Please complete the following questions to identify what configuration or changes from an existing certificate you would like to test with this trial certificate. All data pertaining to the areas listed below will be completed later in the form.
Enter any rig measurements that have changed or that would change if the trial configuration is accepted. Please provide all rig measurement updates in metric units (meters and kilograms).
SINGLE FURLING HEADSAIL
To qualify for the single furling headsail credit, your boat must carry only one headsail that is rolled or furled as the wind increases. This must be the only headsail carried, except for a heavy-weather jib no larger than allowed by World Sailing. If this describes your configuration, select Yes; otherwise select No.
Please enter measurements in metric units (meters and kilograms) only.
Only complete data for the areas that have changed. Please enter measurements in metric units (meters and kilograms) only.
Please complete the following questions based on the most recent measurements taken of the boat.
Use the question below to report ALL types of sails you would like to add to the trial certificate. You DO NOT need to report sails that have previously been reported to US Sailing.
Please use the drop down menus below to learn more about what sails are required under each measurement rule.
ORC Reported Sail Requirements
Below is a list of sails that must be reported on ORC certificates. Please review the list, even if you are an experienced competitor:
You may also report all of your sails. If you do, please submit a Sail Measurement Form for each sail. Your sailmaker can provide these measurements or send them to us directly. If you are unsure whether a sail should be reported or whether it is the largest in its category, submit the sail and we will help determine if it is required.

Flying Headsails must have a mid-width(HHW) / footlength(HFL) ratio of less than 75% and when flying are not attached to the forestay. A flying headsail may fly either inside or outside the forestay.
When reporting each flying headsail you must report the tack points for each sail which flies outside the forestay. For sails inside the forestay (staysails) use "999" for hoist and tack points.
