2022 U25 Para Sailing World Championships-Prospective Athlete Application

Sailors must by 25 years old or younger on December 31, 2022
To be considered for selection for the 2022 U25 Para Sailing World Championships, prospective applicants must submit an application to US Sailing. Prospective athletes may apply as an individual or a team. Teams shall be mixed gender.

The event will run from July 18-22, 2022 and will be preceded by a two day Para Development Program (PDP) clinic and/or practice sailing that will include coaching. It will be sailed in RS Venture Connect class boats, provided by the organizing authority in a two-person format.

Sailing is a sport that requies proficiency in a wide range of individual skills including physical, technical, and psychological elements. For a successful double-handed team, the skills of each athlete must combine to form an effective unit.

Athletes should be proficient in boat handling and trim techniques of a double-handed keelboat in a wide range of wint/wave conditions with knowledga of game situations, tactics, and rules. Please describe how you/team meets these requirements.
